Service Description

Emma’s story is one of setbacks, disappointment, resilience, and most of all the kindness of humanity. It’s a story of two couples who came together to solve everyone’s problems. Emma and Richard Austin endured ten years of traditional and non-traditional fertility treatments in their quest for a baby. Emma suffered from a throat tumour requiring surgery and suffered from feelings of failure, disappointment and isolation. However, it was her resilience and positive mindset that helped her stay strong. Only two months after making the difficult decision to stop IVF, the offer of a lifetime arrived when a mutual friend introduced them to a Brisbane couple looking to donate their frozen embryos. The altruistic donation led to Emma and Richard becoming the parents of baby Henry. Emma provides an insightful story on - Embryo donation - Woman supporting woman - Positive mindset, wellness and health - Resilience - Gratitude and kindness - The modern family - The kindness of humanity See their 2019 interview on ABC's 'Australian Story' https://www.abc.net.au/austory/perfect-strangers/11547448
